Echo chambers are places on society, and in many cases within social media networks where the information gathered only reflects their point of view. It’s the equivalent of sitting in a room with ten of yourselves, each given a different topic to discuss but all having to cover the same grounds. You hear the same thing over and over.
We see a similar phenomenon when it comes to leadership. Now I am a conservative and a Trump supporter. I am though more of a Trump supporter than a conservative if that makes sense. Where Trump goes in terms of political party or affiliation, that’s where I shall go as well.
In calling Senators and Representatives alike, they 1) Do not want to spend their time with anything outside their mindset. – This by all definitions is patently wrong and they should be removed from office. They in fact work for us and regardless if it’s a Senator from South Carolina and you live in Virginia – They (the Sentator) should absolutely hear your issues and how it affects the national base of the GOP. So not only do they not want to listen to you, they 2) Have been catered to for so long that they think they don’t have to listen to you.
We get the same from our ‘celebrity leaders’. While they are in a position because of a relationship, or happen to be in the White House for a period of time, quite possibly they are a local political candidate. This demographic is the same. They haven’t reached any significant stature yet reaching them for response is quite difficult to and in most cases impossible.
The common theme to these two crowds is the ego. They want you to listen to them and their self proclaimed intelligence but they won’t listen to the issues that matter the most. In most cases, if you don’t see a means of contact directly – they are of the same basket of ego and they are merely omnidirectional echo chambers. They pass along what they hear but have very little influence upon decision making so they don’t offer bi directional feedback from listeners, followers or constituents.
Petition Watch originates our own material. Our petitions are a result of where we see leverage in gaining footing or possibly giving a new political candidate credibility by allowing him or her to run with a petitions purpose as a newly sponsored piece of legislation. This type of relationship matures into a well connected one that offers years of effective purpose.
